Dr. Mihir J. Shah is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and a National Registered Health Service Psychologist at Neuropsychology Rehabilitation Services/Lifespan (NRS/LS). Dr. Shah treats medical and neuropsychological conditions including the variety of dementias, aging effects, the spectrum of traumatic brain injuries, cerebral vascular accidents, brain tumors, demyelinating diseases, seizure disorders, metabolic/toxic disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, and psychological issues such as reactive anxiety, depression, and adjustment difficulties.

Dr. Shah graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology with concentrations in Neuropsychology and Health Psychology at Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Argosy University Schaumburg accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).

Dr. Shah’s doctoral training included several practicum rotations in various clinical settings namely North Central College Counseling Center, Elgin Mental Health Center (maximum security prison/DHS facility), Hartgrove Hospital (inpatient/partial hospitalization/outpatient), and Meier Clinic providing comprehensive neuropsychological treatment including assessment (fixed and flexible battery approaches), individual counseling, group/family therapy, and cognitive rehabilitation.

As a part of his doctoral training, Dr. Shah completed a one-year, pre-doctoral internship at The Center for Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Health (CNNH). His training at CNNH was Division 40 Houston Conference compliant for Neuropsychology training conducting psychological/neuropsychological assessments, counseling, and cognitive rehabilitation.

Upon completion of his doctoral degree, Dr. Shah obtained a two-year, Neuropsychology Fellowship at Neuropsychology Rehabilitation Services/Lifespan (NRS/LS), a member of The Academy of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (AABN). He trained under board-certified (ABN) supervisors, Dr. Sica and Dr. Greco, in the assessment and treatment of neuropsychological conditions.

Dr. Shah has presented on a local and national level at professional events namely Annual Research Day at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, The International Neuropsychological Society, and National Academy of Neuropsychology on topics including but not limited to Neuropsychological Assessment, Artificial Intelligence in Neuropsychology using Meyers Neuropsychology System, Differential Diagnosis in Dementia, Caring for Geriatric Caregivers, and Neuropsychological treatment.

Besides clinical practice, Dr. Shah has been active in research studies. He is a certified rater for CDR Dementia Staging Instrument from Washington University in St. Louis. Additionally, he is certified rater for psychological/neuropsychological instruments for pharmaceutical research protocols.
