Dr. Basia E. Andrejko-Gworek graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology as well as Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, Minneapolis, MN. She completed her pre-doctoral Practicum at New Horizon Treatment Services, Trenton NJ, an outpatient clinic treating patients with comorbid mental health and substance use disorders.
From there, she went on to complete a pre-doctoral Internship at Albert M. “Bo” Robinson Assessment and Treatment Center, Trenton NJ, a residential correctional facility treating patients with a broad range of mental health, behavioral, learning, and adjustment issues.
She then was accepted into a three-year post-doctoral Residency Fellowship in Clinical Psychology with a rotation in neuropsychology psychometrics at Neuropsychology Rehabilitation Services|LifeSpan (NRS|LS), Tinton Falls, NJ, a multidisciplinary practice treating medical and behavioral health populations. At NRS|LS and under supervision of Dr. Robert B. Sica, Ph.D., ABN, FACPN, she gained extensive experience in both psychological and neuropsychological disciplines, conducting 400+ neuropsychological, psychological, and psychological-pain examinations, assigning differential diagnoses between psychiatric vs. brain based populations in order to provide treatment for patients with psychiatric disorders, brain conditions, and physical-psychological trauma (i.e., concussions, TBI, PTSD, MVA cases) utilizing evidence-based treatment interventions.
In addition, she was promoted to Chief Resident-Post-Doctoral Fellow and charged with training new post-doctoral fellows in psychological assessment, report writing, and psychometric testing.
Finally, she obtained her New Jersey Psychologist License and is now a staff Clinical Psychologist at NRS|LS.
Dr. Andrejko-Gworek provides psychological consultations, psychological examinations, psychological-pain examinations, and neuropsychological psychometrics and treats patients with various psychiatric disorders, including Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Panic Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Adjustment Disorder, Somatic Symptom Disorder, and various Phobias. She also treats patients with brain conditions and physical trauma/chronic pain. She utilizes Medical Adjustment Counseling (MAC®), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), comprehensive trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, including Exposure therapies and Biofeedback. In addition, she provides Cognitive Rehabilitation to retrain thinking skills disrupted by brain injuries, or chronic brain injury, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Epilepsy. Also, she is actively involved collecting research data with psychological measures to advance assessment and treatment of patients with MS.
