Dr. Lauren Gashlin received her Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) in 2014 from Chestnut Hill College (CHC), accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). She completed her predoctoral internship through the CHC Consortium, conducting comprehensive psychological assessments at the Psychological Services Clinic of CHC and co-training with medical residents through the Lehigh Valley Family Medicine Residency Program. She completed her postdoctoral residency at NRS-Lifespan, specializing in clinical health psychology, a branch of psychology that integrates evidence-based psychological practices into the treatment of individuals who experience co-morbid medical, emotional, and cognitive symptoms.
Services that Dr. Gashlin provides at NRS-Lifespan include Medical Adjustment Counseling®, clinical health consultations, presurgical and psychological pain examinations (clearances for surgery), biofeedback, and clinical health psychological examinations to guide medical decision-making and treatments. She has experience treating patients with the following conditions/complaints: acute and chronic pain, chronic health conditions (cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, autoimmune, migraine & headaches, diabetes), obesity, disordered sleep, fatigue, “brain fog”, medically unexplained symptoms, stress-influenced changes in health and emotional functioning, female reproductive conditions (e.g., antenatal and postpartum depression, infertility-related anxiety and depression), and difficulties adjusting to medical and/or life-related stressors.
She is a regular presenter at Ocean Medical Center’s Bariatric Support Groups, speaking on issues such as mindful eating, tolerating urges, presurgical readiness, coping with postsurgical changes, postsurgical eating avoidance disorder, etc.
Dr. Gashlin is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at Monmouth University where she previously graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
